چکیده
Abstract Studies on the effects of environmental changes with increasing depth (e.g. temperature and oxygen level) fish physiology rarely consider how hydrostatic pressure might influence observed responses. In this study, lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus, 200–400 g), which can exhibit vertical migrations over 100 m daily be found at depths 500 or more, were implanted Star-Oddi micro-HRT loggers. Then, their heart rate (fH) was measured in a chamber when exposed to following: (i) (up 80 bar; 800 depth) 10°C (ii) (12–20°C), decreasing (12 4°C) levels (101–55% air saturation 12°C) absence presence bar pressure. Additionally, we determined fH response chasing (to 22°C) atmospheric Pressure-induced increases from 48 61 bpm associated hyperactivity. The magnitude rise greater pressure-exposed vs. control (i.e. by ~30 45 between 5°C 20°C). However, relative increase slope relationship) not different groups. contrast, eliminated small (5 bpm) hypoxia. Exhaustive exercise 22°C resulted maximum 77 81 bpm, respectively. Our research shows that influences challenges provides first evidence have limited capacity fH.

Structure-based modelling of hemocyanin allergenicity in squid and its response to high hydrostatic pressure
The secondary, tertiary, and quaternary structures of squid hemocyanin (Hc) were characterised, and the relationship between Hc structure and allergenicity responses to high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) was modelled. The Hc allergenicity varied with its protein structure. Electrophoresis analysis revealed that HHP treatment significantly decreased the band intensity of Hc when increasing pressure...
متن کاملResponse of Maximum Inspiratory Pressure and Functional Capacity to Positive End-Expiratory Pressure Device after Valvular Heart Surgery
Background: Pulmonary complications following valvular heart surgery are common and contribute to increased duration of hospital stay, rate of morbidity, and mortality. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the response of maximum inspiratory pressure and functional capacity to Positive End-Expiratory Pressure device in patients who underwent valvular hea...
متن کاملNon-linear Heart Rate and Blood Pressure Interaction in Response to Lower-Body Negative Pressure
Early detection of hemorrhage remains an open problem. In this regard, blood pressure has been an ineffective measure of blood loss due to numerous compensatory mechanisms sustaining arterial blood pressure homeostasis. Here, we investigate the feasibility of causality detection in the heart rate and blood pressure interaction, a closed-loop control system, for early detection of hemorrhage. Th...
متن کاملRate of Pressure Rise in SI Engine Cylinder and its Relation to Knock (RESEARCH NOTE)
Tremendous efforts have been devoted to study the complex phenomenon "knock in spark ignition engines. There is an increasing interest in providing some tools to study knock in simulated data. In the previous studies, engine cylinder pressure oscillation has been used to investigate knock. Unless those methods involved highly complex non-detailed chemical relations, the previous studies were de...
